    1. Vamplayers is a laugh-out-loud hilarious and un-freaking-believably bad-ass companion novel to Zombies Don't Cry. Rusty Fischer is an extraordinary writer and I can't stress enough how much I love his books. Vamplayers is no exception. Eye-popping, geek-a-liciously entertaining, extremely well-written and completely and utterly engaging, it's a fantabulous YA paranormal novel, and one that you absolutely can't afford to miss. Think you've read all the vampire novels out there and nothing could p [...]

    4. VAMPLAYERS, by Rusty Fischer, is a unique take on vampires in the young adult genre. Lily is an 80s girl (which makes me love her that much more) and is turned into a vampire. She joins the Afterlife Academy and becomes a "Sister" but she really wants to become a "Savior". But she can't pass the test. She vows one more mission as a Sister will be enough for her but boy is it a doozy. With her two other Sisters, she attends Nightshade undercover to find the Vamplayer who is going to infest this s [...]

    5. Loved the start and end, disappointed with the middle. It was obvious who the vamplayer was and what what going on. The MC wasn't stupid so why did the author drag it on for so long.

    6. ~ Powell's ~ Medallion PressDisclaimer: I received an ARC of this book from Medallion Press in exchange for a fair and honest review. I started this one pretty late. In fact, it was after 2am, and I was only planning on reading for an hour or so, until I got tired. I ended up reading the whole thing right then and there. I could not put this book down.Rusty's style of writing has always appealed to me particularly because it mirrors the way I think, speak, and write. It's not super descriptive o [...]

    7. My reviews can also be found at: escapingwithfiction/*I won this book from a giveaway held by the author. Thanks, Rusty Fischer, for sending me this book!* I pretty much love everything about this book. The cover, the writing style, the many different characters--it's all awesome! Overall the plot is exciting, consistent and easy to follow. Plus there was just enough romance to keep me happy. When I first read the description of the book I knew it would be something I'd enjoy because I like all [...]

    8. Lily dies just to realize she has been turned and now is working for the Sisterhood of Dangerous Girlfriends. After several years of training she is now a Third Sister alongside with Cara (Second Sister) and Alice (First Sister). And what they do is get into a potential place where a vamplayer is planning to create an army of vampires using first one victim: the typical hot-slutty girl that will fall for his charm and then, once turned, lure everyone else into becoming vamps too.Once they are ins [...]

    9. the last few pages of this book lost a star from me. i was on the fence, but then the dreaded love triangle reared its ugly head and that was it. i was done. i dont understand the need for a love triangle in almost every freaking book. why cant two people just be together? why is that so hard. why do authors feel that including a third person is somehow going to enhance their book? tip - it does not. SPOILERSthere were a whole bunch of things that i hated about this book. lets start with the con [...]

    10. Brought to you by OBS reviewer Marie-Reine*Beware of possible spoilers*After getting turned to a vampire as a teenager, Lily has trained to be a Sister, a Vamplayer hunter, at the Afterlife Academy of Exceptionally Dark Arts. She and her two other Sisters are sent undercover to high schools, where they must stop Vamplayers (smooth talking bad boys who happen to also be vampires) who would turn unsuspecting teenage girls into killing machines. In this latest assignment, Lily quickly finds herself [...]

    11. I was sent a copy of Vamplayers by Medallion Press to review. I’m not sure how I got on their list, maybe from previously reviewing one of Rusty’s books, but I’m glad I did.Can I first say how much I love the cover? It doesn’t feature a hot, sexy model, but I think it’s gorgeous! At first I was I little confused about why a fellow vampire would want to take out another. A Vamplayer is not like a regular vampire. They charm and target someone to do their bidding, become stronger, and tur [...]

    13. I am seriously trying to figure out a non-spoilery way to express my love of Vamplayers. This is a YA vampire novel and Rusty Fischer did not follow the *haven’t I read this book before, formula*. There wasn’t over the top instalove, and only one guy is super model hot…the other boys look like real people *gasp*.Lily is the Third Sister. It is her job to go into a high school along with her higher ranking Sisters Alice and Cara to find the Vamplayer at that school before he has the chance [...]

    14. Last year I read Zombies Don't Cry by Rusty Fischer and I really enjoyed it! His writing is kind of different because he creates kind of a spoof, it's half ridiculous in a funny way and half serious. Like I giggle at some of the things he comes up with, but yet I grow attached to the characters and I take the story serious, just not too serious. I'm not really a big fan of spoofs, whether it's a movie or a book, it's normally not my thing. But Rusty makes it work for me. I actually invest myse [...]

    15. I got Vamplayers for free, off the kindle website. I had low expectations of this book because it was a free book, and was thoroughly surprised to find that my expectations were beyond exceeded. I am not saying the series doesn’t have its flaws; such as a very simplistic writing style, a couple of shallow characters, and one extremely obvious, to me, plot twist, are my only gripes though. The story is written in the first person POV, and since it is a YA-Fantasy title, I didn’t expect to be [...]

    16. I almost never read vampire books. But I've had several experiences with Rusty Fischer's work & I knew, without even reading the synopsis that I would love this book. I did. I loved it so much I read it in one sitting & refused to put it down even to eat or do other things one must do during the day. Full of his unique brand of snark & pop culture, forefronted by a fabulous female protagonist from his seemingly endless cadre of smart, sassy, & kick-ass heroines, Vamplayers is at [...]

    17. I am a huge fan of Rusty Fischer! I think that I might be his biggest fan. Seriously, I cannot read enough of his books! Vamplayers is a fun, interesting, new take on the vampire trend that is rocking the YA lit department. I love this idea, that there are players whose only goal is to seduce, turn, and wreak havoc on a high school and community. So, we’ve got the Sisters: Alice, Cara, & Lily. They’re, you know, not teenagers, but expertly-trained vampire secret ops agents whose purpose [...]

    18. This one is a definite read! Rusty writes in such a smooth and easy flow, letting you fall right in and attach to the characters. I fell in love with the kind and good natured yet, kick some serious ahem, character of Lily and the page gripping events she'll lead you through. Ever since that gruesome day that Lily's mother was attacked and killed, Lily now lives to find Vamplayers. Vamplayers are vamps that play the game so good that they can fool any human they wish and look fabulous while doin [...]

    19. What an amazing book! Rusty has written a winner in Vamplayers that has some fantastic elements that we all look for in a good Vamp book: Romance, creepy vamps, a secret agency, thrills, humor and so much more. This is kind of a mini-review: I'm a bit behind in reviews and had no intention of reading Vamplayers but once I started I couldn't put it down. I started yesterday evening and finished this morning. Each character carries a unique descriptive voice, I instantly bonded with Lily, the MC an [...]

    20. You can also read this review here.Lily Fielding is a vampire who dreams of becoming a Savior one day. Saviors are those kick-ass people who battle the Vamplayers. But for now, Lily is stuck as one of the Sisters, the third one in fact. Alice and Cara, her fellow sisters, and her are assigned to a school to investigate. But Alice and Cara are targeted and that leaves Lily to face the threat alone.I thought this was a great vampire book with all the tension and stuff. Lily is always on the edge a [...]

    21. Wow. Not your everyday average vampire love story. So much better. Lily is sort of thrust into being a vampire. But she's good at it, and what she does. She hunts Vamplayers, who would turn innocents into vampires. Her and her "sisters" work together to do this. But when they are assigned to Nightshade, things do NOT go as planned. Of course, Lily is certain she has it figured out the first day, who it is, who he is looking to turn, etc. Only, its not who she expected at all. And this person isn [...]

    22. Review / Giveaway 2/14 at supagurlbooksOk I LOVE Rusty' books. The writing is wicked good, and the story line in Vamplayer is a unique take on the Vamp world. I was instantly pulled in by Lily, she is an amazing girl then Vampire! All the aspects of the world are fully realized and very interesting. Vamplayers? Sounds good right? NOPE they are players looking for a hottie girl to turn then let loose and start a newbie vamp infestation! BAD! Lily and her sisters get in over their head. I loved th [...]

    23. I was offered a review copy of this book and, since I enjoyed two of Rusty's other books, I jumped at the chance. I am glad to say that I was not disappointed. This is a tale that kept me grinning and hooked on each page turn from start to finish. It has the same zany humour I've come to expect from this author and it is nicely paced. The twists are a little predictable at times, but this just adds to the fun as it is also a great spoof piece in many ways. This book will definitely appeal to fan [...]

    24. Vamplayers is a fun and engaging book with a humorous, yet at times serious, look at the life of Lily, a Sister who wants to be a Savior. The Sisters get a routine job at another school (being a perpetual high school student sucks!) to find the Vamplayer and keep him away from his targeted popular girl. However, this is one assignment that is nothing like it appears to be. All the sudden Lily's friends are acting strange and she's got no one to turn to except for the 'scholarship' kids who are n [...]

    25. Fischer doesn't waste much time on setting, descriptions or characterizations but his plots hum along at a nice place and his ideas are fresh and original.Lily, a vampire action princess along with her two friends, is tasked with rooting out Vamplayers -- vampires who set off infestations at boarding schools. Her latest assignment runs into some problems since the Vampire turns out to be a Vampiress and its her friends Alice and Cara who wind up getting turned. Not great literature but then, it's [...]

    26. I have to admit, when I first opened this book, my expectations were not that high. But, I found myself caught up in the story of Lily and her Sisters, and the events that they went through throughout this book. I really liked the author's approach to different types of vampires and vampire heirarchy. It was something different than the standard, and I liked it. The book is definitely more geared towards a young adult audience, but I would strongly recommend this to anyone who wants a fresh new [...]

    27. I can't even remember how I found this book. I think knows to recommend ridiculous YA vampire novels to me at this point. I thought the premise was interesting--a group of vampire girls go into high schools undercover to find and kill the vamplayer (vampire/player) who will inevitably seduce the student body. The ending was a little predictable and I wasn't sure of all the mythology, but I liked that it was different.

    28. Well, this was no amazing literary feat. That's for sure. I think this book suffered just solely based on its title. I went into it expecting 'cheesy' and it was hard to take anything seriously. It held my attention well enough and I absolutely loved the star wars/ star trek references:) overall it was an ok book. I didn't hate it, but I certainly won't be dialing any friends to recommend it either.

    29. It took me a while to get into this one. I didn't really like the main character until the end because she basically was clueless about everything around her. I liked the concept of the story, it was different than other vampires stories nowadays, and didn't have much romance in it for once. But I kind of had a clue what was going on before she even figured it out and it pissed me off that she was that clueless.but overall it was a good read, especially for 99 cents.

    30. The concept is a bit more interesting than the execution, but the book was still good enough for me to finish it in two days. More editing could have helped it: the book raised questions such as "how can vampires be out in the sunlight," and yet never answered it.Still was an interesting take on vampires/vampire lore.
