    1. I liked the story in this book. It's impressive how much Andre Norton can weave into one middle-grade novel. I especially like that while the giant insects are dangerous, they are not depicted as evil, and there turns out to be a good reason why they are so aggressive. I was disappointed in the Star Ka'ats for their inability to understand and work with their cat companions on the Star Ka'ats' homeworld, since their solution, removing the cats who are unable to act like ka'ats to a different pla [...]

    2. Favorite character was the earth cat, Boots, who was all, like, at the end of the book, I would rather take my chances on this savage planet than spend another day with you holier-than-thou vegetarian Star Ka'ats. Note: Am actually reading American version (Star Ka'ats and the Winged Warriors) - but the original dustjacket is presently unavailable (and I hate broadcasting books I'm nosing through with that brown paperbag pic). Upside: this pink spider-eating-spaceship bjork-bjork version does ha [...]

    3. Really nice illustrations. My copy is titled called "Star Ka'at" written in Star Wars type lettering, so a real relic of the 1970s. Dated, but not enough to harm the story. A good book for children that love cats and science fiction.
