    About "Junji Ito Junji Ito"

    1. Junji Ito Junji Ito

Junji It Born in Gifu Prefecture in 1963, he was inspired from a young age by his older sister s drawing and Kazuo Umezu s comics and thus took an interest in drawing horror comics himself Nevertheless, upon graduation he trained as a dental technician, and until the early 1990s he juggled his dental career with his increasingly successful hobby even after being selected as the winner of the prestigious Umezu prize for horror manga. The most common obsessions are with beauty, long hair, and beautiful girls, especially in his Tomie and Flesh Colored Horror comic collections For example A girl s hair rebels against being cut off and runs off with her head Girls deliberately catch a disease that makes them beautiful but then murder each other a woman treats her skin with lotion so she can take it off and look at her muscles, but the skin dissolves and she tries to steal her sister s skin, etc.Ito s universe is also very cruel and capricious his characters often find themselves victims of malevolent unnatural circumstances for no discernible reason or punished out of proportion for minor infractions against an unknown and incomprehensible natural order. His longest work, the three volume Uzumaki, is about a town s obsession with spirals people become variously fascinated with, terrified of, and consumed by the countless occurrences of the spiral in nature Apart from the ghastly, convincingly drawn deaths, the book projects an effective atmosphere of creeping fear as the town s inhabitants become less and less human, and and bizarre things begin to happen. Before Uzumaki, Ito was best known for Tomie, a comic series about a beautiful, teasing and eternally youthful high school girl who inspires her stricken admirers to murder each other in fits of jealous rage Eventually, unable to cope with her coy flirtation and their desire to possess Tomie completely, they are inevitably compelled to kill her only to discover that, regardless of the method they chose to dispose of her body, her body will always regenerate. In 1998, during the horror boom that followed the success of Ringu, Tomie was adapted into a movie Since Tomie, many of his works have been adapted for TV and the cinema.

    2. English Title - Lovesick Dead or Undying LoveThe male equivalent to Ito's most notable character, Tomie. Whereas Tomie was an inhumanly beautiful and cruel girl who drove men to murder, the nameless villain of this story is a ghostly, inhumanly beautiful man whose hobby is driving the lovestruck to suicide. Because you know, that's what good-looking ghosts do.Some cultural context is necessary to "get" this story, especially the crossroads-fortune-telling game, which is kind of strange and uniqu [...]

    5. Creepy and intriguing, I like it. Always like Junji Ito's works. I recommend anyone who read this to go read his other works too."

No sé si yo no supe entenderlo o qué.

    11. I did not give a full rating for this manga solely because I did not quite like the repetitive story. The concept is the samea mysterious handsome dude with trash mouth curse girls who are playing the cross junction fortune telling (odd game to play if you ask me). The story was there, it was gross and it was mysterious, no doubt about that. But this is not my favorite manga But creepy never the less :P

    12. I love this. The plot is remarkable (that's what I think) The illustration is amazing too but I don't really know what to say about the ending. (view spoiler)[It's pretty sad. It made me both happy and down. I didn't expect Ryuusuke to die (He is seemingly killed by the ghosts of the girls who played the game and the Intersection Bishounen) although he became the White-Clothed Bishounen, who spreads happiness to girls playing the game. (hide spoiler)]

    13. Very creepy illustrations. I haven't read much manga, but the translation seemed a little strange sometimes. Like why would they call him Intersections Pretty Boy every time? I read a review of translated book once that complained about how tranlations can be too literal. Still, it's a very good horror story.

    14. Not going to give 5 stars. The illustrations are creepy & hideous. I'll give stars for that. But, somehow, the story itself is not so creepy. Hahaha. Cause it ain't scared the shit out of me. LOL. But honestly, I do enjoy reading this. Not to mention, this is my 1st time reading Junji Ito's book. Got a good impression bout him. Maybe i'll read his books more.

    15. Extremely creepy story, with an artstyle that corresponds to the story. I had a hard time getting into the book because it was giving me the creeps. But I got through it and it's a great story. Not for people who gets easily frightened. And DO NOT read it before bed, or you'll have nightmares. Haha

    16. This is one of the grossest Junji Ito's horror manga I have ever read.It is so gross that I get goosebumps every single time I re-read it.Junji Ito is really the master of horror manga.I am looking forward to read more of his works!

    17. I'm curious who the handsome guy is, I wish he could have made it clearer when the guy come from. I'm so interested in him.
