    1. Review by Steve Royek published on rowanglassworksIn the United States, where our national attention span seems to coincide with the length of a half-hour TV sitcom, it’s no surprise that the deadly, destructive earthquake in Haiti has disappeared from our national consciousness. The January 12, 2010 quake killed more than 100,000 men, women and children and left tens of thousands more homeless. News reports at the time told of office building collapses in the capital of Port-au-Prince that bur [...]

    2. As this was my first non-fiction review and to be honest, one of the very rare non-fiction books that I ever read, I was a bit unsure about Rakunas up on his offer of reviewing his book. Once I’d read the synopsis I found it almost impossible to say no. I was intrigued to find out the events he’d encountered during his journey to the then destroyed land of Haiti and his thoughts and feelings upon his return. Having finished the book in a mere two days it goes without saying that book complet [...]

    3. This is an account of Chris Rakunas’ experiences when he and a colleague spent the best part of a week in Haiti to deliver a consignment of medical supplies to aid the country after it was devastated by a catastrophic earthquake in 2010. The medical supplies were for hospitals and an orphanage run by someone known as the Mother Theresa of Haiti—Miriam, an extraordinary, selfless, and utterly dedicated lady. This is a compelling read. It’s a stomach-churning read. It’s a tragic read and on [...]

    4. Revised Review: Chris sent me a brand new copy of this wonderful book todayns formatting issues! If i could, I would now give this an extra star. Rest assured, any copies you may now download from , or wherever, are now perfect and pristine. Thanks Chris!Normally, I am so anal about ebooks that I would automatically remove a star for the poor formatting of the chapters and headings. I don't believe in the slightest that I am becoming more lenient, more forgiving. Chris's book simply blew me away [...]
