    1. This was a YA fantasy romance with a distinctly fairytale feel to the story. It was set in a typical fairytale style world and packed with all sorts of magic a weird creatures. Prince Garin is the sort of Prince that occupies his time by going on the sorts of quests that bring fame and fortune to his kingdom. He has fought all sorts of dragons, witches, and monsters, and rescued his fair share of damsels in distress. His latest quest has him seeking the legendary Treasure of Isian in the far awa [...]

    2. Prince Garin decides to go on a quest to find the fabled Treasure of Isian. Along with his trusted servant Elani, he sets out to the mysterious kingdom Isian, but things don't go according to plan and Garin and Elanifind themselves spit from his soldiers. They continue on their path but Garin is taken from Elani and she will do anything she can to get him back. This is a tough on to rate because, while I did enjoy it, I just found too many things that annoyed me or turned me off the overall stor [...]

    3. This story is captivating and has many twists and turns. It gives a new dimension to fantasy characters. It was difficult to put down. Not only is it a fantasy, but a sweet love story that can be enjoyed by young adult and adult alike. The devotion of Elani to her Prince was enjoyable, making the reader wonder when the Prince will see her as something more than a servant. Highly recommended!

    4. I was given a copy of this book by the author but the opinions expressed herein are my own. This was an enchanting read. I didn't want to put it down once the story got going. Elani was an engaging heroine who was all the more likable because she had little faith in herself. Her position as a servant who was cursed to serve a prince and obey his every command made her doubt her own abilities, yet she was very capable and up to every challenge. She gained confidence as the story progressed surpris [...]

    5. Just finished reading "The Treasure of Isian" by Serena Clarke. I am surprised I am giving this book 5 stars. It is not my normal kind of read but I enjoyed this book. Prince Garin sets off to find The Magical Treasure Of Isian after his younger brother Prince Rogan tells him the secret of it. The secret is that it is a treasure that will grant your every wish. Prince Garin and his servant Elani ( a girl of 17, which for the last 13 years had been his servant and who is secretly in love with him [...]

    6. This was a very adventurous and exciting Fantasy. There was seldom a slow moment. Young men will most likely enjoy it as much as the young women.A servant set out on a journey for treasure with her prince and with a guard of several soldiers. Within days they were overtaken by giants and separated from the palace guard, as they fled for their lives. They worked together for survival until they could get help. The were forced into confrontations with different types of varmints in various situati [...]

    7. The Treasure of Isian is great story with intriguing characters. At times I thought the pacing was off, but I was still enjoying the story. Elani is a fabulous character with lots of heart and she had many adventures. Garin too was enjoyable and I really liked the turnaround he made from the beginning of the story. He at first was a spoiled prince who didn't care much for anything or anyone but himself. I also enjoyed how Garin started seeing Elani through different eyes. Serena did a great job [...]

    8. A tale of an enchanted servant and a handsome prince and the adventures they face together as they search for the fabled treasure of Isian. This story had everything--dragons, witches, giants, elves, kings, princesses, terrifying forests and true love. Once I picked it up, I couldn't put it down. Elani's story was touching and heartbreaking as she goes on a journey of self-discovery and enlightenment. Fast paced story. The author connected me to the characters well. This quick read brought a smi [...]

    9. The Treasure of Asian is an interesting tale about a servant girl who must do what the prince commands. Elani grows up with the prince and they learn many things together: sword fighting, riding horses, hunting, and such. When the prince takes Elani with him to hunt a treasure, he never imagines how this trip will change their lives forever. They have to battle giants, women warriors, a water witch, and poison plants all to get this special treasure that all want, but only the right person can u [...]

    10. This was a great book! An adventurous tale that was quick paced! Something new always happened and there wasn't a moment to get bored! And who doesn't love a good love story? Loved it! Now the author just needs another book to give my favorite character a happy ending!

    11. This was an engaging fantasy with magical creatures, princes and princesses, and of course a mysterious quest. Prince Garin hears of the Treasure of Isian and its ability to grant wishes. No one knows what the treasure is or where it's located, but Garin assembles his soldiers and his faithful servant Elani to seek it.Elani has been Garin's shadow since she was four years old, when she arrived alone at the gates of his castle unaware of even her own name. When it was discovered that she's forced [...]

    12. My Review ofThe Treasure of Isian Author Serena ClarkeI loved reading The Treasure of Isian because the book has a magical feel with sea-witches, ogres, dragons and many more mystical creatures that Elani and prince Garin come across on their treasure hunt. I also loved the devotion Elani shows to Garin and how their partnership changes over the course of their journey. The story itself follows Prince Garin and his servant Elani as they go into an enchanting forest in the search of treasure. Howe [...]

    13. The Treasure of Isian by Serena Clark is the first book in the Isian series. The story follows Elani, a servant, and Garin, a prince. The story was very good and interesting, but I felt it could have been expanded on. It was a very short read, one I was able to finish in a few hours. I enjoyed the story, but some parts were fairly obvious and that took away from the mystery of the treasure. Also, the story raced along and you felt like it was being pushed through. I would have enjoyed seeing the [...]

    15. *I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review*This is another one of those books that I have a hard time rating. The story, itself, is good. Although, not very fantasy like; more of a fairy tale than anything. The whole time that I was reading, I thought of every fairy tale that I ever read as a child. And while that is a good thing, I still felt like something was missing.Prince Garin seeks out to find the Treasure of Isian. Along with him is his servant Elani [...]

    16. The Treasure of Isian by Serena Clarke is an enchanting action adventure story that will suck you in and won't let you go until you are finished with it. The story centers around 17-year old Elani, who is a full time servant girl to a prince. Unbeknownst to Prince Garin, Elani secretly loves him, despite his being betrothed to a princess from another kingdom. The story essentially begins when Garin, a band of soldiers, and Elani set out on a quest seeking the mystical Treasure of Isian. Along th [...]

    17. The Treasure of Isian is the first book of a series that follows Elani and her master Prince Garin. It is fantasy, romance, and adventure all wrapped into a nice package.Right when you start this book you are thrown into the adventure. You get to know the characters through their journey versus from backstories and that is refreshing for a fantasy novel. We follow from Elani's point of view as they are venturing to find the mysterious Treasure of Isian, soon after Elani is separated from her mas [...]

    18. I would probably classify The Treasure of Isian as a fairy-tale novel. Even though it has elements of fantasy it isn't bogged down by over-descriptive details as books in this genre usually are. It is written in simple, straightforward language which helps to keep the plot moving and makes for a quick, fast-paced read.Elani was a very impressive character. Her devotion and loyalty to Prince Garin were unparalleled even when it was not reciprocated and her faith allowed her to believe in their re [...]

    19. I love the mix of adventure and prophecy in this novel. Clarke takes readers away into an unforgettable and magical fantasy world with descriptions that paint the world in vivid colours. The magical creatures and diverse peoples that we meet kept me enthralled. All the while, the exciting and emotional plot was unforgettable. I loved how everything came together while also taking me on a great journey. The mix of characters was astounding. They were all developed so intricately. Garin’s growth [...]

    20. I really enjoyed this story as well as the characters. I liked seeing how much Prince Garin grows and changes. Elani, doesn't change as much in comparison, but she does gain a lot of confidence in herself and she realizes she does have more worth and should be treated better (and this happens before the surprise ending - although I will say I had guessed the end). Even the supporting characters were interesting, and I found I wanted to know more about them (ie. Prince Ander Jared maybe the next [...]

    21. Prince Garin is a vain and shallow man as the story begins. His need for adventure sends him on a quest with his most valued servant, Elani. Elani would do pretty much anything for the prince. As they set out, they are almost immediately besieged by unforeseen complications--giants, dragons, water witches, etc. As with most quests, progress is made toward the end result. A bonus with this one is the growth the characters went through as the quest moved forward. Elani is a strong and stable chara [...]

    22. Magical Journey 4.6 StarsHeld within these pages, is a creatively written, bewitching Love Story. This tale begins as Prince Garin, along with a crew of soldiers and servants, which included his personal female servant, Elani, set out on a quest to find the Treasure of Isian. The legend tells of a treasure that can grant every wish, but it can only be controlled by a worthy Prince.Needless to say, the myth doesn’t describe exactly what the treasure is, but that doesn’t stop Prince Garin;for he [...]

    23. Overall, Serena Clarke gave us a book that is a sweet Disney-like fantasy romance (violence isn’t detailed, simple plot, light kissing, happy ending). While I could tell from the beginning where the book was going, I was still engaged in Elani’s character and in the dynamic between her and Garin. It was gratifying to see Garin’s self-centered behavior change over the span of the book. Elani’s character, however, only gained so much depth and then stopped and her overall goals never chang [...]

    24. This book is light, quick to read, and uncomplicated. It's a nice fantasy adventure with a sweet romance blossoming along the way. Gavin and Elani both learn about themselves and each other as they go in search of answers about the mysterious Treasure of Isian. The only downside was that I spent much of the book feeling like an observer. The details were sparse and the characters went through the motions without much fanfare. Otherwise, I really liked the story and the growth that both Gavin and [...]

    25. This was a nice, clean, fantasy, romance book, and elements of the story are reminiscent of the movie, "Penelope." Though I would probably consider this a Young Adult book, I appreciated the "clean" content, so that I could actually listen with my 5- and 6-year-olds without having to worry about covering their ears. The book had good characters, interesting places, and wasn't too bogged down in details like some other fantasy books. In fact, this is more like a fairy tale. I think that if you en [...]

    26. *review copy of the audiobook received from publisher*This was only the third full-length audiobook that I have listened to and this may have influenced my opinion, especially as the first two were the well-known and loved Game of Thrones & A Clash of Kings.I enjoyed the story, but I am not sure if I was reading the paper book I would have finished it. The world building and the character development were good but the pace was very slow and the writing especially descriptive. So much so that [...]

    27. Serena Clarke writes an interesting fantasy, and weaves magical characters throughout. This book is fast paced and keeps your attention. I especially like that it can be read or listened to by the younger generation without worrying about language or certain topics. Also, Carolyn Kashner did a remarkable job narrating this book using various voices to bring the characters to life.I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

    28. I love a good fairy-tale. This one is delightful. It's full of adventure, dragons, witches, elves, and other fantasy creatures. There are several wonderful heroes as well. I liked watching the mystery unfold and guessing how the characters would overcome the challenges they faced. I look forward to more from Serena Clarke.

    29. The synopsis is very accurate and a good description of the story. I loved the fact that it was "Audible" and I could close my eyes and have sometime tell me a fun story with no effort on my part at all. I really enjoyed it and Ms. Clarke chose a great narrator that definitely was enjoyable to listen to. I recommend this book and was happy that I had an opportunity to listen.

    30. A Great Fantasy! The Treasure of Isian was a page-turner. I couldn’t seem to put it down. There was lots of action. There were different dimensions to fantasy figures, where giants were huge and elves were not necessarily good, not to mention water witches, dragons, and a sweet romance. The end was surprising, something I didn’t expect. I highly recommend this book.
