    1. 2. The suspense in this novel begins right away and the reader doesn't have to wait very long to get to the interesting parts. For me, the main character was the perfect blend of innocent and needy combined with independent and authoritative. She was smart, sassy and clever enough to avoid many situations that would have gotten lesser characters killed within the first half of the book. My interest in this book really solidified when she got to the ranch. The feeling of family there and the idea of [...]

    3. The heroine is Mikela Richards, a chef and the owner of her own catering business. Out for a morning run she hears gun shots and then founds a dead body. What can she do? She knows the police won't believe her? (You're going to have to read the story to find out why the police won't believe her.) Then coming out of her place of business she sees a cop and then she finds another dead body. The plot thickens.Guess what the heroine Mikela does, she runs. She ends up hiding at a dude ranch in Wyomin [...]

    4. Mikela, also known as Michelle (the name she adopts) and Mike (the nickname given her), sees a cop kill a man, so she knows she can't go to the police. Instead she escapes with a thumb drive she hopes will prove her innocence and the cop's guilt - once she decodes the password. Her temporary haven is in Wyoming, where she uses her chef ability to work in a dude ranch kitchen. She fears trusting anyone, even the hunk who is so convincing. While the ranch family comes to mean increasingly more to [...]

    5. From the opening lines of Kate Wyland’s WYOMING ESCAPE, the pace kicks your adrenalin into high gear with gunshots, dead bodies, and Mikela Richardson’s obvious fear of the police. What happened five years ago? Why is she afraid? That fear leads her to flee her home and head for Wyoming where she meets the owner of a dude ranch who needs a cook. Mikela agrees to help her out for a few days and meets her Marine nephew Shawn. The sparks do fly. The bad dudes follow Mikela all the way to Wyomin [...]

    6. The basic story was ok, but it seemed to drag. Mikela was a weird combination of wimpiness and bravery, which was actually pretty believable, but her tendency to wallow in self pity and to blame herself for everything was very irritating as the book wore on. The rest of the characters seemed under developed. I actually liked the scenes about the ranch best.
