    1. Quick CritiquePros: The opening chapter grabbed my attention, which kept me flipping the pages seeking something brilliant. The final chapter was full of suspenseful action, and the ending did make me wonder what happens next.Cons: There wasn’t really a “wow” factor in this first installment of the series. I waited for the awesomesauce, but it never showed. Heck, I would have settled for mediocrity with a little sauce on the side, but that got lost on the way to the table as well. The writ [...]

    2. I obtained a copy of NightmarZ: Asylum through a free librarything giveaway. This review contains no spoilers.Irma Geddon is writing the Z Series, a series of serial novels. The first of these is NightmarZ, which contains six episodes. The first, Asylum, is a quick 10,000 word novelette. If that sounds confusing, don't worry; you'll be able to just buy the individual "series" as complete novels once they've been written.I'm going to start here by talking about Asylum's cover. It's very well done [...]

    3. As usual, I didn't pay anything for this book but instead received it via the kind consideration of a LibraryThing giveaway. Despite this good turn I'll give my positive and negative thoughts on it below. This rather short literary offering encounters our protagonist as the victim of a bizarre attack from which she barely escapes. Rather than receiving the comfort of her family, she suddenly finds herself in the "care" of an insane asylum. The main thrust of the book is to answer the simple and o [...]

    4. I received this book from Library Thing to read and review. This is a short story/novella, and, I understand, the start of a series. In this first installment, after a very bizarre accident, Gabrielle finds her father, her only living relative, has committed her to a psychiatric hospital (asylum). In addition to the patients, who are just exactly what we have all come to expect from psychiatric horror films, Gabrielle encounters some unprofessional staff, who try to take advantage of the patient [...]

    5. I received a copy of this book in return for leaving an honest review. I just, wow, this was a fantastic beginning to what I'm going to go ahead and assume is an off the charts series. I'm not sure what the PC label would be for this, but I'm guessing maybe paranormal due to the nightmares that come to life. But personally this is the makings of a great horror story. For me a worthwhile horror story has a sense of something sinister and somewhat unexplainable(at least for part of the story), and [...]

    6. Disclaimer: I received a free copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.Rating: 2.75/5 (Rounded off to 3)Review:First Line: That night, my life turned into a nightmare - literally. It was a really quick read. Asylum is the first (of six episodes) in the NightmarZ series, which is a part of the Z series. Whew. Now that we have that out of the way, onto the story. The story follows Gabrielle, whose nightmares seem to be coming alive trying to kill her. She's sent to a mental asylum by h [...]

    7. I received a free ebook copy from a LibraryThing Early Readers Giveaway. This was a short story, 39 pages on my Nook. It was a very fast read. It was exciting and I felt the nightmare scenes were well written and gripping. I didn't care much for the interaction with Creepy Male Nurse which is why I removed stars. I also didn't feel like enough was explained about why her dad would send her to a psychiatric hospital. Wasn't the window broken? Weren't there tree branches and leaves in the room? It [...]

    8. I received this e-book for free in return for an honest review on LibraryThings.Great short introduction to the start of what I can imagine is going to be a very promising series. I couldn't help but feel disappointed by how quickly this ended but I have to admit it left me wanting more.I think the first line of the book sums up everything That night, my life turned into a nightmare - literally. I can't wait to see what this nightmare will actually bring

    9. Abrupt yet oddly intriguing. The world this is set in is almost antiquated, with the mental hospital sounding aptly like an asylum rather than today's facilities. It is clear that this in unusual and that makes it more disturbing as a read. The low staffing in such a facility seems highly improbable and illogical but it matches to the oddness of the rest of the story. Also, the problem, nightmares coming to life, is in intrguing, possibly enough to keep me reading.

    10. NightmarZ:Asylum is a quick but suspenseful read. The narrative flows smoothly from one experience to the next. Others will likely read this interesting book quickly, trying to find the answer to whether the main character’s experiences are real or imagined…The next installment should be revealing.

    11. I got this book for free from Kobo. It was short and sweet and I really enjoyed reading it my only complaint is that I want more!! I am eagerly awaiting reading the next one to find out what happens.

    12. A short suppose to be scary kinda story. Gabriella had it all. Until one night her worst nightmare came to life and ruined her life. Now she has to walk to halls with a creepy nurse aid who has a wondering eye. And no one but her dad knows the truth. Will she make it out.

    13. I received title through library thing, I found the book to be very short, and is part one of the Z series. This is a rather "Dark" book to read. It also seems to hang at the end, not really a cliff hanger but it just hangs. I couldn't really tell what was going on.

    14. This is an interesting story. It catches your attention from the beginning and then leaves you wanting more. Don't have nightmares while reading this you never know what might happen. Can't wait to read more.

    15. It was ok, but I found it a bit hard to follow I was never sure if she was dreaming or not?I downloaded it for free from Kobo. It's a quick introduction to the series, but I don't think I will be reading the rest

    16. I loved this book. it is one of those stories where I need to know what happens next. My only disappointment is that it's a short story.

    17. This was interesting. I'm not really sure what to say about it as a whole. It was short -- too short, in my opinion. I didn't have things I hated or liked, so I'm rating it 3 stars.
