    1. This short novella that introduced Vanessa Kelly's Renegade Royals series has been languishing on my kindle forever so I decided to check it out.Needless to say, I finished it in one sitting this morning. While the plot was simple and most of the feelings between the characters had developed before the book opened, I thought for a novella that this was a solid choice. It was fun to be dropped into the middle of a story where the characters already share feelings for each other but are at an impa [...]

    2. That was forgettable. Lots of scowls and growls from the hero as he lusted after the heroine. Sex in the library (and in someone else's home at that!). Hero came thisclose to making the peen reaches the womb shelf at GR. I believe I'll pass on the rest of the series.Moving on

    3. I'll give it to Kelly. She creates some really stand out amazing characters and doesn't waste any time making you fall for them. Lost in a Royal Kiss was a great little read that had me hooked on Linnet and Anthony from pretty much the first paragraph as they drive each other crazyd fall in love.Anthony and Linnet. These twoI absolutely adored them both. Anthony was just so freaking cute. The man is smitten with Linnet and wants to be her husband.ionately. And she has absolutely no clue. LOL He' [...]

    4. This was a reasonably entertaining novella which tells part of the backstory of one of the central characters in Ms Kelly’s upcoming Renegade Royals series. When he is just fourteen, Dominic Hunter – the son of a butcher who, in a rather misguided act of charity on the part of Queen Charlotte, was brought up alongside some of the royal princes – falls in love with Chloe Steele, the daughter of the boys’ tutor.Chloe, however, has been seduced by Prince Ernest, which has outraged Dominic to [...]

    5. This was an excellent little novella with heat, family and love and a wonderful way to set up an exciting new series! Anthony and Linnet have cared for each other for years but never acted upon those feelings but a late night trip to the library changes everything. Just when Anthony feels like it is all finally falling into place, his mouth doesn't utter quite the right words and a new barrier arises. Throw in a complicated young love, Anthony and Linnet need to find the right way to finally tal [...]

    7. Lost in a Royal Kiss by Vanessa Kelly is a 2013 Zebra publication. This novella kicks off the Renegade Royals series and starts off by telling the story of Linnet and Sir Anthony. This is an author who is new to me and I was impressed with this short story so I'm queuing up a few of her books now. It's hard to find regency period romance that impresses me these days, but I think this series just might change my mind about that. Linnet is highly organized and the guardian over her siblings while [...]

    8. I was hopping for a little more in this novella, yes I understand it is just a taste a teaser but I still feel it was missing something.

    9. I have a personal aversion to alpha-holes, and Sir Anthony ticked all the boxes for me. He was controlling, always trying to keep the heroine from getting away from him ("caging" and "trapping" her, "clamping" his hands on her), making her decisions for her, intimidating her. Not my idea of sexy. The storyline was good, though, and I'm interested to see how Dominic grows in the following books.

    10. Reviewed Originally For: Bodice Rippers, Femme Fatales and FantasyIn book her introduction to the Renegade Royals Series, Vanessa Kelly shares with us the trials and tribulations of those attached to the royal court. A woman enforced to raise her siblings because her mother has been called as governess to the royal children and can not be expected or allowed to the time to raise her own children. A man who has created his life around become the King's chief magistrate A child who was taken from [...]

    11. Lost in a Royal Kiss is a sweet little novella that introduces Kelly’s new Renegade Royals series. Vanessa starts off the series with two slightly out of the ordinary characters as far as romances go. The heroine, Linnet, is a woman with plenty of curves in the right places. And the hero, Anthony, is the one who is doing the pursuing. It is a nice change to have the man plotting and laying traps to obtain the object of his affection. The interactions between these two will make you smile. A ni [...]

    12. The romance between Linnet and Sir Anthony was hilarious in their inability to fucking talk to each other. And though this trait in a couple usually drives me insane, with them it was just weirdly cute. I enjoyed their story.P.S. CHLOE AND DOMINIC’S LETTERS BROKE ME. That is all.

    13. This is the second free e-novella I've read that introduces a new series (see Kate Pearce). As such, I expected it to accomplish one thing: explain the origins of the Renegade Royals. It surprises me that this e-novella is only one page more than Pearce's but the pace is slower and more leisurely. I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing because it did still manage to tell a complete story while adhering to the short format. And this was my reflection for yesterday: the format is the s [...]

    14. Posted on What I'm ReadingAll right, I mange to squeak in a read today. Today's selection happens to be Vanessa Kelly's new novella, Lost in a Royal Kiss. In this novella we are getting introduce to Vanessa's new series The Renegade Royals. In this story we meet Linnet St. Claire who needs help from Sir Anthony Tait. Basically, Linnet brings Anthony a boy who finds himself in a pickle, because of a girl. Anyway, Linnet asks Anthony to take him under his care. Of course Anthony would do anything [...]

    15. This introductory novella to Ms. Kelly's RENEGADE ROYALS series is a very enjoyable read. The tension between Sir Anthony and Linnet is well done, but I would have liked to learn more of why Linnet was avoiding him. They obviously have feelings for each other, but neither of them think the other is interested in a relationship so they both dance around the issue. Back and forth, they say things that lead to more misunderstandings and hurt feelings, but will they finally be able to confess their [...]

    16. If I'd read this before books later in the series I would have stopped here -- but the series gets better.Powerful guy courts prim, overworked spinster. I despise the 'she's intelligent except around him' trope which is used widely here. I didn't find the heroine particularly likeable, and the hero was none too bright and overbearing. They never quite have that partnership conversation that would have helped dispel the overbearing guy and woman too smart for it vibe. There was also some cringe-w [...]

    17. This novella setting up the series makes me wish Linnet and Anthony had appeared more in subsequent books. They were delightful and I would have loved to see them interacting with any of the heroes and heroines later on.

    18. Lost in a Royal Kiss is the opening novella to the Royal Renegades series by Vanessa Kelly. The novella is a little less then 100 pages and I'm not sure about you, maybe it was because I wasn't 100% there when reading it (I was trying to back up my laptop, but was confronted by the wheel of death. Excuses, excuses, I know), but I was a little lost in the beginning. When we first meet the protagonists Home Office Liaison Sir Anthony Tait and royal governess Linnet St. Clare it's at his office and [...]

    19. London 1786-Linnet St. Clare has gone to Sir Anthony Tait to ask for his help in taking Dominic Hunter into his household. Dominic, an orphaned butcher's son, was taken in by the Queen in hopes that he would give her sons a greater empathy with England's lower class. In fact, the opposite occurs and they tease and cruelly pick on him. Linnet sits down with Anthony and explains what has occurred and why she needs his help. She comes upon Chloe Steel, the Reverend Steel's daughter, right after the [...]

    20. After reading the completely delightful "One Kiss for Christmas" by Vanessa Kelly in the A Grosvenor Square Christmas anthology, I decided to download the free (at the time) novella Lost in a Royal Kiss that introduces her upcoming series, The Renegade Royals. Anthony and Linnet's story opens in 1786 -- she's in love with him, he's in love with her (well, he wants her to be his wife -- and therefore in his bed -- at any rate *wink*), and neither is, as yet, willing to do anything to breach the d [...]

    21. Even though this was a prequel, I feel like I missed something. Were Linnet and Sir Anthony introduced in another book? How exactly did they know each other, and how did they fall in love? It was basically presented as a pre-existing fact, and while the story itself was relatively entertaining, it felt incomplete. Maybe things will become clearer after I start reading the other books in the series.

    22. The story opens when Linnet enters Anthony's library bringing a young man with her. She is upset, that is obvious because she has appeared without a chaperon. Dominic, the young man has gotten into a fistfight with a prince of the realm. The prince is a jerk who has seduced a young girl. The young girl is Dominic's best friend, Chloe. This short story is the introduction to Ms Kelly's Renegade Royals series. Dominic is not a royal but he has been raised with the princes. He is well aware that th [...]

    23. "Lost in a Royal Kiss" is an introduction to Kelly's new series, The Renegade Royals. It has a refreshing premise that will tempt fans of historical romance to download this novella. Linnet St. Clare has her hands full raising her brother and sister while her mother is busy as a royal governess and living apart. Nevermind potential spinsterhood. Linnet has secretly longed for Sir Anthony Tait, a powerful man at court that she crosses paths with often. One night she arrives on his door step with [...]

    24. As usual, I'll put my disclaimer: I'm a chapter-mate of Ms. Kelly's at the First Coast Romance Writer's RWA chapter. That did not influence my rating at all.I read this novella in two pieces. It didn't catch my interest initially, but I did go back to it. I didn't realize, until I turned the last page, that this was a novella, so the ending really caught me by surprise. Because of that, though I hesitate to say this in some ways, I feel like the ending was sort of rushed. There was no real emoti [...]

    26. I like the way Ms. Kelly writes - but I haven't really liked the books I have read by her - I have always found her work to be hit or miss for me. In fact, the only reason I got this novella was because it was free and the blurb looked interesting. I am so glad I took a chance - it was fantastic!I loved Anthony - he was my kinda hero! He knew what he wanted and was determined to get it - and he wanted Linnet. Linnet was a bit of a puzzle to me, she wanted Anthony - but avoided him like the plagu [...]

    27. LOST IN A ROYAL KISS by Vanessa Kelly is an exciting Historical Romance set in 1816 London. A novella. Prelude to "The Renegade Royals" and what a prelude. Ms. Kelly transports her readers to a time of ballrooms, royal courts with a few twists and turns. A quick, fast paced read. In "Lost in a Royal Kiss" we find Linnet St. Clare and Sir Anthony Tait at a loss on how to save a young boy's future. Young Dominic, is an orphan, raised with the royal children and is about to make a horrid mistake. S [...]

    28. 3.5 - 4 starsI read this novella, which is a prequel to SECRETS FOR SEDUCING A ROYAL BODYGUARD, the day after I completed the first novel in the series. In one sense, it would be really good to read this novella first, because one gets a sense here of who Sir Dominic was as a young teen. I did find myself, as other reviewers have stated, feeling that my copy of the first book was missing the first several pages of story with respect to Dominic. On the other hand, the Title, LOST IN A ROYAL KISS, s [...]

    29. Lost in a Royal Kiss is a prequel to a new series from Vanessa Kelly. This short story sets the stage for the upcoming series and gets reader interested in investing into the series. I think it did its job, as I for one will at least give the first book a try.Sir Anthony Tait and Linnet St. Clair are part of the royal court. The story starts with Linnet needing Anthony’s help in a situation involving one of the prices and their tutor’s daughter. Linnet and Anthony have a friendship that isn [...]
