    1. My cherished copy of Cadillacs and Dinosaurs that I found in a Tacoma used book store ages ago. If your library doesn't have any of Marc Shultz's Xenozoic Tales you really should track some down! I read in a book by Bruce Campbell that director Sam Raimi likes to put as much "mush-mush" in every scene he films as possible, where mush-mush is described as anything cool that can jazz up the scene in some way (dolly zooms, point of view shorts, high speed sequences that are played back backwards as [...]

    2. A stylish graphic novel in the post-dystopian vein. Queen Hannah and Cadillac Jack brave the environment, reptiles, the weirdo goon squads, and their disparate world views to converge on the secret weapon. Schultz gives us so much of Hannah’s bust, ass and crotch with killer looks between she and Jack – even a well-placed hand by Hannah near Jack’s crotch – that you’d expect horny toads to pop out of a panel at any moment. Alas, that only happens with actual humanoid horny toads, and n [...]

    3. This is what Prince Valliant should have been. This book takes you back to the kind of art Hal Foster does without all of the stuff that puts you to sleep in Prince Valliant. Replace brave knights with old auto repairmen-cum-shamans, and swap out armies of enemy soldiers with terrifying thunder lizards - but use the same art style. Cadillacs and Dinosaurs pretty much mashes up post apocalyptic stories with fantastic traditional illustration to give you something new.Originally published in comic [...]

    4. What can I say, I like dinosaurs! I actually veered away from this title when I first saw it, thinking the premise ridiculous. Then I had the chance to read a copy at a friend's house and I was hooked! In 2020, the Earth is shaken by upheavals and disaster. Mankind resettles in underground shelters and society is kept alive by the mechanics-cum-shamans working on the machines the survivors need to prosper again. Jack Tenrec, an "old blood mechanic", works to protect mankind against another earth [...]

    5. Ground-breaking when first published back in 1986, now an authentic classic. The title describes what this graphic novel is all about -- a mashup of all past ages where Cadillacs, nuclear bombs, and dinosaurs co-exist in the same present and human beings are far from being the ones in charge. Highly recommended.

    6. It is fascinating to watch Schultz's art evolve in this collection as he resurrects the styles of the lush styles of the classic newspaper comic strips like Flash Gordon and Prince Valiant in a post-apocalyptic setting with a mix of revived dinosaurs and twentieth century technology. Any fan of quality comic book art will enjoy this collection.

    7. Classic pulpy sci-fi in comic book form. Humans destroyed themselves in the nuclear age. humans survived in shelters only to re-emerge to find all of Earth's epochs meshed together. Lizard people, old Cadillacs, and dinosaurs. These stories follow the tough but fair Jack Cadillac Tenrec and Wassoon leader Hannah Dundee.

    8. The stories are fun and entertaining--but Schultz's art is great--the best of Frank Frazetta, Al Williamson, and some other greats whose names elude me (Roy Krenkel, too!). Just for the panels alone, you should check this out.

    9. This graphic novel has all the best elements of my favorite guilty pleasures: pulpy art that oozes style and atmosphere, fantastic ecological underpinnings, complex plot and well-fleshed out world, and a heaping dose of humans interacting with dinosaurs. I mean, come on, the title says it all.
