    1. Brings back memories of reading the terrible Tudors at primary school! Enjoyed the first half of the book better, as the older history is more interesting and shocking! 2 different Hawick stories - made me so chuffed!!

    2. As usual, amazingHorrible Histories is amazing. Gory, Grisly and A LOT of death!I’d recommend for 7 and up. Maybe some schools will even decide to use them in lessons! (Personally though, I’d rather read them at home). GREAT BOOKS, DON’T STOP WRITING THEM!!!!!!😍😜

    3. I came across Terry Deary's "Horrible Histories" books in Scotland. You can't go in museum gift shop anywhere in the U.K. without seeing them. Anyway, they're right up my alley: history focused on the bloody, nasty and often absurd events that usually get glossed over in school, told with a snarky sense of humor ( or humour)."Bloody Scotland" was my first (bought in Edinburgh, no less). Sure you'll read the gory end of William Wallace, but you'll also learn how to make Horrible Haggis and Powsod [...]

    4. This book is part of Terry Deary's "Horrible Histories" series of books, this time focusing on the long, interesting and often gruesome history of Scotland. The book begins with a timeline of Ancient Scotland, the Picts fighting the Romans, then the Scoti becoming the first Scots, the endless wars with their old adversary England and the unification of the kingdoms. More specifically, it covers the wars, executions, crimes, disease, plagues and riots in Scotland’s colourful history. The book is [...]

    5. This books name is bloody scotland one of the many series of horrible history made by Terry Deary. This book is about all the horrible things the scots and other contrys did.I think the best thing about this book is how they make all the horible thing that one country did and make it into something funny like in the book it shows these two peploe one scotland and the other one english and the english one was saying how they made a wall to stops the scots from raiding there land but the scotland p [...]

    6. I love the Horrible Histories series and, while some are more enjoyable than others, I would put this one in the former category. The book is divided into sections according to chronology: the Middle Ages, Tudors, Stuarts, etc. It includes everything you expect from a Horrible Histories book: quizzes, timelines, horrible comics and more. A great read for anyone interested in history, Scotland, or horrible stories. :)

    7. I bought this book as a souvenir in Stirling when I was visiting Scotland. It promises horrible history and it delivers on its promise. Scotland's history is told chronologically with a good sense of humour. It's a good read for people who visited or want to visit Scotland. Or for people who like bloody stories.

    8. I LOVE THIS BOOK! It is definitely my favourite HH book and I was lucky enough to get Terry Deary to sign it in Edinburgh. I have read(and quoted) it numerous times and even did a small presentation in S1 on why I considered it one my favourite books. It's also really short so you can easily read it in a day!

    9. The Horrible Histories series is a great series, even though it is intended for children rather than 20something English doctoral students. I am particularly interested in Scottish history and culture, and this book provides an interesting and light introduction with a lot of grisly facts.

    10. Add to my love affair with Horrible Histories a book about Scotland I absolutely loved it.Reading it in the Edinburgh National Museum helped too.

    11. If you ever want to learn about the history of Scotland in a funny way, try this book. I really enjoyed reading it.

    12. Highly enjoyable if you want to find out more about Scotland's rich history. Entertaining for anyone of any age. Lots of anecdotes, examples and funny graphics.

    13. Buenísimo, ameno, cargado de ironía y mala baba; Un gran libro que nos habla de la historia de Escocía ( Por supuesto, relatado por un inglés).

    14. A slightly different view on history. Focusing on all the horrible things and includes some little illustrative comic strips throughout. Fun to read. Kids would love it.
