    1. Also posted on This Chick Reads*Copy provided by author in exchange for an honest review*I've always been a sucker for books with plus sized heroines. It could be because I myself have always struggled with my weight, so it's always really easy for me to connect with these characters. Ellie is a saleswoman and she's very good at her job. However, she's not been recognized for her hard work.dly, she thinks the reason for that is because she's not good looking. She's had a rather difficult year, b [...]

    2. This book had me laughing from the first page! Ellie and Sam are fantastic characters but the laughter comes from the knowing how Ellie feels dieting! We have all met the Kevin's & Lou's, but seeing the mishaps and colour days in writing makes the reader roar with laughter. The knowledge that we all do the the diets, gym and sneak the no no's before during and after Christmas sets in and the reader is pulled into thinking this year we can do it, but we are also shown, it doesn't matter what [...]

    3. When I received my ecopy of Weight Till Christmas by Ruth Saberton, I was so pleased! Ruth’s such a talented writer and Katy Carter Wants A Hero is easily one of my favourite Chick Lit novels, ever. I was so excited to dive into her Christmas novella, being the first bit of writing from her under her Ruth Saberton name in a couple of years. But, I have to admit to being a little disappointed in Weight Till Christmas.First, I have to get this out of the way: For the first 25% of the novel I spe [...]

    4. This is the second Christmas book I've come across by Ruth Saberton and it's just as well written as the first one and just as much fun to read. It is the story of Ellie who is the best car salesperson ever to work where she does, but is overlooked for promotion because she doesn't fit the bill when it comes to looking the part. She's overweight and dreams of getting into the perfect green dress for the Christmas party and lusting after her boss on the sly, even when he is moved to another branc [...]

    5. Ellie, a car saleswoman (and a darn good one at that!) can't wait to go to her company's Christmas party- if she can squeeze into her dress! Overweight and unfortunately not even a blip on the radar of the hot co-worker that she is desperate to impress, Ellie embarks on a weight loss campaign with her best friend Sam. As the two of them run in the park and share low-fat entrées, Ellie can feel the fat melting off, but will she lose enough weight in time? And will she impress the man of her drea [...]

    6. I really enjoyed this story about Ellie and Sam, who are both fighting to loose some weight, with their ups and downs, twists and turns and this specific for Ruth only chirpy humour. What I liked so much about Ellie and Sam is the fact that they are real, they are very likeable. There are many Ellies and Sams among us, moi as the best example. At the beginning I wanted to shake Ellie sometimes and tell her stop being such a doormat girl but I guess this is the problem with all people who think the [...]

    7. I really enjoyed this lovely story. I liked it cause it's linked with Christmas but can be read in any season as well. Characters Ellie an Sam are great. They are so real and everyone has Ellie and Sam in their lives.Ellie is trying to lose weight so she can wear perfect dress for Christmas party. Sam is helping her to reach her goal. And along the wayThe story made me laugh. It's a real page turner. And in the end I wanted more. The line from the story that I really really love is:My weight is [...]

    8. Curl up on a winter's night and enjoy this little gem.Ellie's goal is to loose weight before the work's Christmas party so she can dress to impress and get her prince charming. We follow Ellie and her best friend Sam on their journey encountering all the mishaps and mayhem along the way.Once I started reading I didn't want to put it down.I was giggling all the way through it much to the amusement of fellow passengers on my way to work. This was the first time I've read Ruth's work,I have put all h [...]

    9. Firstly as a fatty myself I found this book extremely patronising and all honesty in made me feel a lot bigger and uglier than ever. The whole point to the book is apparently no matter what your size is it shouldn't matter you're still you. But then as soon as the tables are turned and Ellie loses weight she comments on someone else piling on the pounds. Really?I'm not writing a review after being made to feel awful and not enjoying the book anyway. I do honestly feel terrible about this, but I [...]

    10. An easy read-in-one-sitting novella that is typical light frothy chick lit, with the added disadvantage of being hugely patronising; while its theme appears to be "it's not what you look like, it's the person inside that matters", the author's attitude towards weight suggests she is as sizist as the rest of the media. I am surprised Mazda haven't sued for the implication that their cars are unable to bear an eleven stone person, and the depiction of personal trainers is highly insulting. Thank g [...]

    11. As i love Ruth Saberton, i wanted to read this festive story from her. Its been sat on my Kindle since last year and as im doing a Christmas blitz i wanted to get reading. This follows Ellie on a quest to lose some weight with her best friend Sam in time for the work Christmas party. Ellie wants to impress Drake, who she has the hots for. All the charactors were likeable, some parts made me laugh and some made me sad that Ellie thought she needed to change to impress a guy. As it seems her Mr Ri [...]

    12. "Saberton's skill as a wordsmith is to be applauded, as she gives the reader a sense of emotional connection with her characters. She is able to grab the reader's attention through the use of her comic, witty language and broaching a subject that so many deal with universally. The character of Ellie (Phant) Summers had me in fits of laughter throughout - even as a male reader. A page turner from end to end, a novella that supports her style of chick lit; simply put a great read."Review by Daniel [...]

    13. This story was wickedly adorable. The main character Elli is a fun and mildly plump British woman who has dreams of grandeur that include wearing the perfect dress a few sizes smaller, meeting Prince Charming, getting a promotion and having the perfect Christmas. What she discovers is the Christmas tree isn't always greener on the otherside and that maybe she wrote her wishlist out wrong.

    14. A very enjoyable, lightweight read, perfect for sitting down, relaxing at Xmas! I warmed to Ellie and Sam straightaway, rooting for them to get together. Ruth Saberton's writing is pacy, humorous and visual.

    15. As you may see i am hunting for books with a Christmas/winter theme, because I miss this so much. This was unexpectedly funny and nice, really enjoyed it.

    16. As usual, fab easy reading chick lit from Ruth Saberton. Everyone can relate to Ellie and 'that' dress !

    17. An easy read as a novella, the characters were likable! Needed a little bit more of a Christmassy atmosphere!

    18. A delight Christmas story about finding love that's been in front of you the whole time. I loved the author's humor. She had me chuckling the whole time.
