    1. It's interesting to read this book now, since DNA testing was done in 2000 that shows what happened to the Dauphin. In this work, written in 1921, Lenotre argues for the theory that the Dauphin was smuggled out of the prison and the child who died was a decoy. He doesn't claim that any of the pretenders who popped up over the years were the real prince, but he strongly believes a switch did occur.
