    1. i love this play more the second time than the first. wish I could see it on stage. loved the discussions about faith, freedom, love, choices.

    2. I decided to pop into the library to pick this one up before going downtown for some business I had. I assumed it would be enough for both ways at least, and only if it was boring would I have to finish it at another time. I underestimated this book by a huge margin. It took me less than the whole ride to downtown - so about an hour? - to finish this and I swear half the subway car heard me sigh as I read the last page. It was so powerful and moving.I knew next to nothing about the Scandinavian [...]

    4. Michel Marc Bouchard writes a very philosophical play about Denmark's Queen Christina as both a lesbian and a deep thinker torn between traditional Lutheran teachings and the Catholic Church. There are some moments of surprising comedy, particularly as she deals with an overly ardent male suitor, and some lovely poetry in her relationship with lady-in-waiting Ebbe Sparre. Throughout there is a strong sense of loss and even betrayal as those she loves and trusts most continually try to use her.

    5. I was priviledged to see this play performed at the Stratford Festival in 2014. It was by far my favourite play that year. It was funny, dark, interesting, full of dramatic MEAT. I loved every second. I can't wait to take it in in it's written form, to catch anything that I missed.

    6. I've been wanting to read this play ever since I missed being able to see it at the Stratford Festival last fall. It was beautiful, and surpassed my expectations by far. I do hope I can eventually buy a copy.

    7. 3 stars. Another school read, but better than the others. Christine's story was very interesting, especially in the time she was living in. It was however a play and the way it was written made it less intriguing for me. I like it better when we can be inside the characters' minds and thoughts.
