    2. Having never previously read Beatrix Potter's work, I had no expectations or nostalgia going into this. To be honest, I bought it because it is a beautiful book, and I'm glad I did! I enjoyed these little stories much more than I thought I would, even if they are rather old-fashioned. Each story had some background info provided, often explaining how many of Potter's characters were inspired by her various real-life pets - this spoke to my inner animal-lover! :)

    3. Our youngest absolutely loved these books. As for myself, I was pleasantly surprised at the way many of the stories work on a different level for grown ups; Miss Potter was a clever lady. I had as much fun reading them as my son had hearing them read.

    4. I rewatched the movie "Miss Potter" and decided to read all of her books. Some were better than others. I may not be a good judge, because it has been a long time since I had little kids, but I don't think a lot of these stories would still hold up today.

    5. Wonderful classic tales with all the charming illustrations. I am very glad to own this set of all 23 individual books. My 4-year-olds favorite is The Tale of Tom Kitten, my favorite line coming from Tom's mother, "you are not fit to be seen; I am affronted."
