    1. "Lightning flashed. . . . The door opened, not on the storm but in mid-afternoon sunlight. The House had changed inside and out. Where the porch had been were dozens of wide tiers that descended like steps. Iron staircases twisted up to wings that hadn't been there before. It wasn't a country estate house but a mass of them, pieced together from different eras and styles."Easter is gifted, or cursed. Take her hand and she will lead you into the Larkey House. Through each door of perception is an [...]

    2. I read this both as a beta-reader last year and then a pre-released final copy, and I loved it so much both times I read it. There were obvious improvements made between the beta draft and the final version, but the story and creativity were great from the beginning. I.E. I read a rough-ish draft and pointed out typos, formatting issues, and gave my impressions and thoughts for improvementsd I still absolutely loved it. It was a jewel that needed a little polish. If you're looking for strong fema [...]

    3. The Anachronist Girls gives you anything you want on a Friday night to make you stay awake for 10 hours.I got this book on a read-and-write-review bases. I haven’t read Evan Clark’s first book and I was really excited about this chance because of the theme of this new book.As I saw in other comments, it start slow. A bit too slow, but it builds up the world around the main character, Rose. Her finally steadying life with her mysterious lover, Emile, is about to change when one morning Emile [...]

    4. The Anachronist Girls is a fast-paced time travel novel. It was really hard to stop reading once I began. This was my first book from Mr. Clark, but definitely not the last one. He has a wonderful writing style: the constantly changing POVs really helped me to get into the story. The plot was very well built. Contrary to other reviewers, I didn't find the beginning too slow. It would have been harder to know the characters and the conflict if it was faster. Speaking of characters: I really liked [...]

    5. I just got this last night, and finished it today! Clark does a great job world building and sucking you in. His first book, Movers, did the same thing to me. Like the other review said, the beginning is a tad slow, but once you've invested some time, it really takes off. The characters are really fleshed out and the writing makes you want to keep reading! Nice work, I can't wait for Halcyon Park!
