He was injured in a battle at sea and forced to retire from active military service. With his keen mind he was put to work for MI6. He is awakened in the middle of the nigh [...]

    2. I throughly enjoyed this WWII story and am looking forward to reading more from this author. 'Finding a killer in the middle of a blitz is murder.' (from the back cover) That is just the beginning of the spellbinding action in this book. The Germans are dropping bombs and have spies living practically next door - the bombs you can hear and feel, the spies you thought those were your friends. Codes and cyphers, M16 and Scotland Yard all working together to save the lives of English soldiers and p [...]

    3. I really enjoyed this book. I don't read very many WWII books, but I do love a good suspense book. This book does not disappoint. Historical fiction, romance and suspense draws you in for a great read. I look forward to reading more books by this author.I received a copy of this book from Bookfun for my honest review.

    4. A WWII Suspense Novel… so the book cover claims; add to that a mention in the book description of Britain's top secret Code and Cypher School and I'm intrigued; then factor in a top notch author and I knew this was going to be a good book… It is an excellent book and it ended way too soon. I was left with wanting a whole lot more of Grey's and Grace's action packed lives full of adventures and misadventures. There could even be a spin-off book telling Aubrey's and Bunny's story because I'm s [...]

    5. I had not read this author before, but the subject of the book intrigued me. I enjoy ready a good historical book, and wasn't disappointed in this one. A lot of research had to be put in to understand the Era this book was set in. I enjoyed the way the two main characters met, and interacted with each other. Neither were looking for love, both had to overcome the past to enjoy the future. Will be reading more from this author.

    6. I am a big fan of WWII books especially when they have espionage in them. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the story takes readers to different areas such as London, France and North Africa. I felt like I was able to travel with the characters as their adventure began with a well developed story. I love when an author goes into details about a historical time and makes the story come to life. I got me a cup of hot chocolate with peppermint creamer and sat back ready to visit these faraway [...]

    7. Deathwatch by V. B. Tenery is a novel of intrigue and adventure set in WWII England. Tenery indicates she tried to keep the story true to the actual historical events of the early years of the war. Grace is a cryptanalyst in a crucial code cracking group at England's Bletchley Park and when one of her co-workers is murdered she finds herself the next target. Grey is one of MI6's finest agents and he has been assigned to solve the murder and keep Grace safe, a task he finds quite challenging. The [...]

    8. When reading this book, one is taken back to WWII, primarily in England. I usually don't like historical novels, but this one focuses more on the mystery of who killed Jacky Vidal. Solving a murder during the blitz can prove to be hazardous to your health. But Scotland Yard and M16 get the job done. The person who did the dastardly deed was a surprise to this reader. The two main characters, Grey Hamilton and Grace Sullivan, are well developed and the scenes are described without too much detail [...]

    9. Wow! What a great, exhilarating picture of the brave English fighting the Germans in WWII, VB Tenery has given us. The hunt is on for the murderer of an English cryptologist. Underlying is the war-changing question, have the Nazis received English intelligence? We also see action in the French countryside, as the resistance risks their lives to halt the ongoing approach of the Germans, giving more time for the English to convince the Americans to join the war effort. Through detailed, suspense-fi [...]

    10. “Deathwatch” by V. B. Tenery is a wonderful novel! This is the first novel I’ve read by this author, and I intend to read more. She had me hooked from the first page. This novel is set in the WWII era. I usually don’t enjoy historical fiction, but this novel had enough suspense to keep me enthralled throughout the whole book. This novel starts out with a cryptanalyst in Britain being murdered. Commander Grey Hamilton is in charge of finding out who did this. Could it be a jealous lover o [...]

    11. I found this mystery quite interesting for several reasons not the least of which was the author chose to base it during the timeframe of World War 2. This required the characters to face many intriguing situations for which there seemed no way out. Having the main players working with MI6 and Scotland Yard also added a touch of realism for the WW2 period. This mystery should be a good read for mystery fans, especially those interested in history.I was given this book by the Book Club Network fo [...]
