    1. I bought this book at Clockwork Alchemy, a steampunk con over Memorial Day weekend. Several of the authors were there; they were really nice and I collected several autographs. Plus, sales of this book supports a literacy program through the local library.It's a fun book with paired short stories. It's also a pretty quick read. The stories were entertaining. Some of them, being prequels to novels I haven't read, were hard to follow, but still fun.

What is most unique about this anthology is its theme. Each of the fifteen authors in the anthology contributed two stories.The second story is set in the same universe and follows the same characters, but time has jumped ahead thirty days.     3. Disclosure up front: Two of the paired tales in this book were written by me. My review covers the other stories in the volume.One of the things I love about anthologies is the variety. In this book, there are stories by folks as varied as veteran author Harry Turtledove to brand-new authors with just one book under their belts.
