    1. Matthew West caught the attention of my lyric-loving ears way back when. Wow, who is this guy who tells such phenomenal stories and makes such spot-on points in his songs? And what’s with this guy who asks people for their stories for inspiration and then uses them in his songs? He wrote a book? Great! This book does not disappoint. Each chapter is an exploration into discovering who Matthew found himself to be or wanted to be. Each chapter begins with a story, either his own or someone else†[...]

    2. This is by far one of the best non-fiction books I've read in a long time. The format of the book includes 3 sections: 1. The Greatest Truth: Understanding who you are starts with knowing whose you are. 2. The Biggest Lies: tearing off the false name tags that cover up your true identity. 3. The Future You: living your life as a child of the one true king. I found myself saying "yes! That's me! I've thought that before". Or "oh wow never thought of it like that!" West backs all his claims with s [...]

    3. Wow! I've never read a book so quickly. Matthew West wrote this book to encourage people to let go of the false identities they have clung to, and find their new identity. And he did just that. West was able to apply the story to scripture as well as his personal life. This book is a must read for anyone in a dark season of life or simply just needing encouragement to find their identity where it truly can be found. Will definitely be reading this again soon!

    4. This book was extremely good and inspiring. It makes me want to go out and change the world like we're called to do. I love learning the backstories to all of Matthew's songs and life. It's a great read and you'll feel encouraged after. Highly recommend.

    5. Great book I loved this book. Matthew West has a great message to share! Go and read it and see if you don't agree with me!

    6. I have always loved Matthew West. He is hands down one of my favorite artists. This is the first book I've read by him, and I absolutely loved it! It is funny, relatable, and saturated with so much biblical truth. I think that we all at some point in our lives have an identity crisis. So many things influence the ways we look at ourselves, whether it is the world, other people, or the Enemy himself. We are constantly being labeled (or labeling ourselves) with "name tags" of our faults, our failu [...]

    7. I really enjoyed reading this book as Matthew took his time to share his personal stories that gave strategies on how to be authentically yourself. The insights given made me reflect on ways to showcase my identity apart from what I do. Additionally, it was very humorous and quite easy to read without being overbearing. I laughed out loud from the very first page but at the same time, I learned fundamental lessons based on Christian principles that serve as a guide to keep discovering who I am.F [...]

    8. This review was originally posted on Buy, Borrow, SkipI received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. Imagine with me that you are walking into a meeting. You don't know the people you are going to be meeting with. When you arrive at the meeting you are presented with a blank tag that says My Name Is________________. You pick up the marker to write your name, but right before you do, the individual behind th [...]

    9. Confession: I hear Matthew West’s songs on KLTY almost everyday, but I don’t really know much about him. Neither have I really paid attention to all of the lyrics of his songs. I know the melody, and probably the choruses, but not enough to connect the title of this book with a song of his.I got this book because I liked the description and it was written by Matthew West, whom I know as a Christian singer. The pieces fell into place as I was reading the book. Now I understand that this book [...]

    10. I received this from NetGalley, in exchange for an honest and unbiased review. It was one of those books you have to read. Christian or not, religious or not, you would benefit from the stories included in this book, written by, in my opinion, one of the most relatable Christian singers out there. If you are struggling with an identity crisis in God or in life, depending on how you view religion and spirituality, this book is a good guidebook to understand who you are and what your purpose is. I [...]

    11. Conclusion first: It's an a excellent book and I highly recommend it. The why: From the first page I felt like I could've been in the room with Matthew listening to him tell me these stories himself. I could sense his feelings and emotion. I could imagine him laughing at his own jokes all through the book. Its a fairly elementary book as far as what you will take away from it but it's supposed to be. It's not meant to be incredibly deep and thought provoking. It does an excellent job of getting [...]

    12. A great reminder that we are “the child of one true king “, and that whatever names we have picked up throughout life are not the names that God has picked for us .
