    1. ¡Excelente!

    2. This book is meant to serve partly as an introduction to Heidegger's Sein und Zeit. Of course, as is typical of Sein und Zeit philology, it never really gets to a comprehensive explanation of its second division, and consequently dilutes the content of the book. In the case of Heideggerians I hate such introductions because they entail an uncritical endorsement of whatever is in the book by method of 'clarification' of Heidegger's claims. Given the partial success of Heideggerian introductions i [...]

    3. The key (and lengthy) chapters are 2 and 3. They have a nice rhythm. But I think space restrictions owing to a painfully long chapter on painting meant that I definitely could not explain M-P's thinking in front of a lecture hall. I have learnt the key to his metaphors are lots of touching and gripping for vision. SO there's that. I'd give it 4.5.

    4. Most of the essays in this collection where well written and quite interesting. My favourites included Sean Kelly's 'Seeing Things in Merleau-Ponty,' Judith Butler's 'Merleau-Ponty and the Touch of Malebranche,' Renaud Barbaras' 'A Phenomenology of Life,' and Jonathan Gilmore's 'Between Philosophy and Art.'

    5. A solid introduction to the philosophy of Merleau-Ponty. Carmen's del explications are clear and well thought out.

    6. This is currently (3/2010) my favorite overview of Merleau-Ponty's work. It is particularly good in connection with his discussion of Merleau-Ponty's notion of "flesh".
