    1. "Christmas Lights" Box Set -- multiple authorsAn enjoyable and interesting box set. No two novellas are alike. A collection written by four talented authors. Humor, life lessons, hope, and love all come through in each of these novellas. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️*************************"Christmas Stalkings" by Chautona Havig"A truly fun mystery/suspense novella" ~ a.kChautona Havig has written an enjoyable and arresting novella with "Christmas Stalkings." At times serious, others pensive, and ye [...]

    2. What a fun read this was. The collection, made up of four books by four different authors, was a pleasant surprise to me. I wasn’t sure about a couple of the writers that I had never read before. As it turned out they were just as fun to read as the ones with whom I was familiar. The collection was a great combination; each book was totally different from the others. The variety made an enjoyable holiday book as a whole. The approach in each one presented a different aspect of Christmas. Each a [...]

    3. A collection of four very different Christmas stories by four different authors. I was excited to get this and reading these stories. The Heart of Joyby Vikki Kestell - 2 starsWhile I enjoyed most of this story, I felt cheated. Things were mentioned yet never explained, and, since I had never read any of her other books, I didn't know what had happened to the baby. And it wasn't until near the end of the story that I found out how Joy's husband had died. I felt rather lost and confused when I rea [...]

    4. Christmas Lights is a collection of four contemporary festive tales. Each one unique and totally fabulous reads. The Heart Of Joy by Vikki Kestral is a delightful tale that explores love and loss. Joy fears loving again as everything she loves, she loses. God does not wish us to live a life of fear. Fear is the opposite of faith. God wants us to trust Him and live again. The novella is beautifully written and it really spoke to my heart. I loved Blackie, a small dog. Vikki Kestral is a master stor [...]

    5. What a cute collection of Christmas novellas! Each one unique, no two stories alike. In Vikki Kestell’s “The Heart of Joy”, readers are treated to more of Joy Michaels’ story – a young widow who was first introduced in the third book in Kestell’s Prairie Heritage series. This one is the only historical novella in the group and is a tender romance between two longtime friends. Lots of very sweet moments in this one… but if you’re a dog lover and have a difficult time with books lik [...]

    6. “Christmas Lights” was a delightful collection of Christmas stories. I really liked the variety of styles and settings between the stories while each kept to the meaning of Christmas. Each story was so unique and enjoyable that it would be difficult for me to choose a favorite. I actually have not read previous novels by any of these authors but I will definitely be keeping my eyes open for their books in the future. The Heart of Joy seems to be a follow-up to a previous novel and features Jo [...]

    7. Great start to the Christmas seasonal reading!I love finding new authors to read! This collection had three that were new to me and I can’t wait to read more of their books! These novellas were a great way to get ready for the Christmas season that will be coming up soon. I received a complimentary copy of this book and chose to review it. All opinions are my own. Each book features related themes that we all find more prevalent during Christmas such has hope, joy and generosity and yet they s [...]

    8. This is a fun Christmas collection from 4 authors. I was well acquainted with one of the authors, Chautona Havig. I had read at least one book by Vikki Kestell. The other 2 authors, April Hayman and Cathe Swanson, were completely new to me as this is their debut. I enjoyed each story. Each novella revolved around Christmas. Each one had a large element of hope through rough circumstances. The Heart of Joy has a historical setting. It is actually part of a series, but the author did a wonderful j [...]

    9. WOW - What a collection of 4 Christmas stories that you won't want to miss reading! I'm in love with Chautona Havig, so reading her book was a given for me. But the other 3 author's were new to me and now will be a part of my list of "must haves" when their other books come out. These stories are perfect for the season and will give you the warm and fuzzy feeling we are all craving this time of year! They will certainly not disappoint. This is the perfect gift collection for the book lover in yo [...]

    10. This is the perfect collection of books to read during the holidays. I loved the variety in settings and characters. Havig is the only author I had read before but I will be looking for more books from the other authors.

    11. i was given a copy in exchange for an honest review. i loved the book, if you like stories of faith and romance you will enjoy the book.

    12. Christmas Lights is a collection of four novellas written by four wonderful authors. Each novella is Christmas themed and range from historical romance to contemporary. The Heart of Joy by Vikki Kestell: Joy Michaels is a grieving mother and widow who lives in the Palmer House in Denver. The Palmer House serves as a refuge for young women who have been rescued from prostitution. Joy is unsure if she wants to open her heart up again.Snow Angels by Cathe Swanson: Lisa Marsh is roped into serving T [...]

    13. The Christmas Lights collection has two seasoned authors who are favorites of mine (Chautona Hartvig and Vikki Kestell) and two authors who are debuting with this collection (Cathe Swanson and April Hayman). The first book in the series is part of the Prairie Heritage series by Vikki Kestell. One of my favorite series of all time. A gentle, romantic story of how Joy found the courage to love again after losing her first husband filled with humor as well as Christian values, The Heart of Joy is a [...]

    14. I didn't really care for this collection. I thought the first story was okay, the second mediocre, the third one seemed to ramble all over the place, and didn't finish the last one. I was ready to move on to something different as the stories did not hold my attention. Granted, I usually choose historical fiction and most of these were not from that genre. I have read stories by two of the authors before which is why I thought I'd try this collection but it wasn't right for me this year.

    15. Nice collection! While I am a huge Chautona Havig fan, the other authors are new to me. After "Christmas Lights", I'll be watching for new works from them all. Thoroughly enjoyed each work.

    16. I read three of the four. I couldn't get through one of them (FBI) -- it was a little too sinister for me and would have led into nightmares I was unwilling to subject myself to, so I just put it away. The others were more to my taste.

    17. I must admit, I didn't get past the first book in this collection. It was very depressing and rather gruesome as well. It didn't inspire me to want to read any further.

    18. The Heart of Joy:I enjoyed this Christmas Novella about Joy and her ability to move on from her husband's death. I imagine it was no coincidence that Edmund was at the cemetery when Joy went to visit Grant's grave! What I liked the most was the pace of their relationship. It was obvious from the start that Edmund has feelings for Joy, however he never pushed her or made her feel uncomfortable. There was one mystery to me however. It was stated that Joy had a son with Grant but he was not around, [...]

    19. Four delightful holiday novellas.I thoroughly enjoyed all of the main characters in each of these stories. The Heart of Joy (A Prairie Heritage Novella) by Vikki KestellThis story is a fantastic historical romance. It was obvious from the beginning of the story that there was some history between Joy Michaels and Edmund O’Dell. I haven’t read any of the novels in the series that this story belongs in. This led to some confusion for me by some of the things that were mentioned. After I finishe [...]

    20. Joy for ChristmasI loved Joy. Her emotions, her grief and confusion is just so raw and honest, and though I have not lost a husband or a child, I felt that I was friends with Joy. I felt as well, that I worked beside her as she mentored and ministered to her charges. And when she longed for Grant and took flowers to his grave, I ached for her. O’Dell was so patient, so loving, so there for her when she needed him I was wishing I could encourage her. Those that were with her at the Palmer House [...]

    21. Let me start by saying, I enjoyed reading all four stories. I am not familiar with any of the authors and had no idea what to expect. I am going to be completely honest with you, it took more pages than usual for me to get into one of the books because I'm not used to reading books in that genre. Exactly why I pushed myself to read it . . . for something new and beautiful.Heart of Joy is such a beautiful story about a woman who is trying to live her life after a heartbreaking tragedy. Joy stru [...]

    22. “Christmas Lights” is four novellas about Christmas by four different authors. These four stories made this reader experience sadness and joy and laughter and a little bit of pity for some of the characters in these stories. These stories have romance and Christmas as the common theme. But the stories are each different. Each story is also about a character missing someone that they have lost. I think the titles all described the stories pretty accurately. I enjoyed each of these four novella [...]

    23. "The Heart of Joy" by Vikki Kestell:I felt a little lost as to what was going on with Joy's missing son, but discovered that Joy was introduced in a book called "Joy on This Mountain", so I am guessing I would have known what happened if I had read it first. I liked Joy and Edmund and their desire to follow God's leading. The story didn't flow as well as some for me."Snow Angels" by Cathe Swanson:I enjoyed reading this story. I was a bit confused at first when Lisa mentions Lee as I had no idea [...]

    24. MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOKChristmas Lights is a collection of four wonderful Christmas novella’s. I love this book! The stories are awesome! The characters are fun! Here is a list of the stories, and their author. The Heart of Joy by Vikki Kestell. This story is part of  Prairie Heritage Series. This is Joy and O’Dell’s story, and though it was obvious this is a story in a series, this was a great story. These two characters had faced a pretty sad past, but through patience and waiting on th [...]

    25. I am glad to have the opportunity to read this delightfully diverse Christmas novella collection! These are heart-warming, inspiring, intriguing, humorous and well written stories; each one quite different from the other.Book One (The Heart of Joy, Vikki Kestel) – Impeccably written and I was immediately drawn into and mesmerized by the story. Thoroughly inspiring message of abiding faith and love despite pain and loss. Redemption. Engrossing. Beautiful. Inspiring. Want much more from this aut [...]

    26. Like most of us, I love Christmas time! I have things I don't like about the season anymore, but this book isn't one of them. This book is a collection of four stories, each one light and happy in it's own way. I hadn't read any of Vikki Kestell's series that this story is based off of, but I found it moving and sweet. I also hadn't read Cathe Swanson's work before. I would have sobbed my way through that story had she not used humor, simply because this topic melts my heart. I have deal with so [...]

    27. (I am a member of both Cathe Swanson and Chautona Havig's "Street Teams". With that in mind, I am choosing to review this 4-book Christmas "box")Sure, it's easy to review work from authors you are familiar with. I've been connected with Chautona for a while, and Cathe not so long. I loved Chautona's addition to the box. "Christmas Stalkings" is a bit of a departure but a welcome story that fits the season about making assumptions." Snow Angels" is also a little about assuming things but all work [...]

    28. This is a set of 4 novellas. There is The Heart of Joy by Vikki Kestell. This one is historical and takes place at the Palmer House in Denver, Colorado. Joy has to decide if she is ready to find a new love since her husband died. Joy must decide if O'Dell is the new man for her. This is a good romance. The second novella is Snow Angels by Cathe Swanson. There are many misunderstandings between Lisa and Pete when she is roped into serving Thanksgiving dinner at the local community center. Lisa and [...]

    29. Christmas Lights is a gift to the reader. Two seasoned writers and two very talented newbies have joined forces to create this collection of novellas."The Heart of Joy" is written with loving care, showing hope in the midst of grief and is set in historical Colorado."Snow Angels" will keep you laughing as one misunderstanding after another snowball to bring about a Christmas project that changes the lives of everyone involved."Trip the Light Fantastic" features a clumsy-but-tenacious detective n [...]
