About "Plenary Councils of Baltimore Thomas L. Kinkead"

    1. Plenary Councils of Baltimore Thomas L. Kinkead

The Plenary Councils of Balti were three national meetings of Catholic bishops in the United States in 1852, 1866 and 1884 in Balti, Maryland.During the early history of the Roman Catholic Church in the United States all of the dioceses were part of one ecclesiastical province under the Archbishop of Balti This being the case, governance of the American church was carried out by provincial councils held in Balti As the church grew and was divided into multiple provinces, it became necessary for a national or plenary council of the bishops of the United States to meet to foster common discipline. The fathers of the Seventh Provincial Council of Balti requested the Holy See to sanction the holding of a plenary council The petition was granted and the pope appointed Archbishop Francis Kenrick of Balti as Apostolic Delegate to convene and preside over the council.

    2. Somewhat dated with respect to a few disciplinary and canon law questions, but otherwise an excellent manual on the Catholic Faith.

    3. Excellent Textbook! I am enrolled in Seton Home Study School and this was my ninth grade textbook. It was easy to understand and gave you the information that you needed. It does need a little bit of an update, as some things in the Church have changed.

    4. Very informative book about the Catechism. I was really interested in learning more about the Catechism and where I could find answers in the Bible. It's very easy to understand!
