    About "Serena Yates"

    1. Serena Yates

I m a night owl and start writing when everyone else in my time zone is asleep I ve loved reading all my life and spent most of my childhood with my nose buried in a book Although I always wanted to be a writer, financial independence came first Twenty some years and a successful business career later I took some online writing classes and never looked back.Living and working in eight countries has taught me that there is than one way to get things done It has instilled tremendous respect for the many different cultures, beliefs, attitudes, and preferences that exist on our planet.I like exploring those differences in my stories, most of which happen to be romances My characters have a tendency to want to do their own thing, so I often have to rein them back in The one thing we all agree on is the desire for a happy ending.I currently live in Canada, sharing my house with a vast collection of books I like reading, traveling, spending time with my nieces and listening to classical music I have a passion for science and learning new languages.

    1. 4.5 starsOh, man! There were like these little mini cliffhangers at the end of each chapter that made it so hard to put down instead of keep reading! So fair warning! If you are looking to read this one, make sure you have the time with no interruptions because seriously, it was so tempting to keep reading and I would have if my eyelids weren't drooping because I was so exhausted!I loved the world building. It was unique where the world is based solely on magic and not technology. It was interes [...]

    2. 4.5 StarsA magical adventure!I really, really liked this story. It was adventurous and fast paced. I thought the world was creative and unique. At first, when I saw the glossary at the beginning, I was freaked and worried that it would be confusing. But surprisingly it was very easy to follow. I don't know why, but for some reason I felt like I was in a magical video game; each new chapter was like moving a level up and finding a new challenge and more puzzles for Elryk and Kaythan to figure out [...]

    3. When the wizard Elryk Muyd'omir, in 'The Magic Thieves' by Serena Yates, makes the decision to return to his world to stop an invasion of Earth, the last thing he expects to find is an ally in Kaythan Vs'urr, a Law Forces Commander. Although Kaythan is planning to meet Elryk and enlist his cooperation in defeating their world's corrupt government, he also has no idea what he's getting himself into. Neither man even suspects the level of intimacy which will be involved in completing their mission [...]

    4. I loved this story. There was plenty of action and the characters were very well drawn. I think the premise was original and added interest. I'm a fan of Serena's work and this one was particularly good.

    5. Published today, this is the first book in my Scrolls of Vengeance series. It is set on the planet Tah'Nut which is located in a parallel dimension where magic instead of technology has driven progress. In this first volume the magic thieves interfere - and steal the planet's lifeblood. Elryk Muyd’omir is the most powerful lightning wizard born on Tah’Nut in two hundred years and a pacifist. At first he runs from the illegally ruling Xoh’kas family, taking refuge on Earth, a planet without [...]

    6. Read as part of my QGB Q2 Challenge picked by AshleyAlexis. Serena Yates is on my automatic buy list. I love her writing style. This was an interesting story and I can't wait to read more about this world.

    7. Wow! I just could not put “The Magic Thieves” down once I started reading. Elryk Muyd‘omir, a wizard, has fled to Earth from the planet of Tah‘Nut, which is ruled by the cruel and oppressive Xoh‘kas family. Tah‘Nutian Law Forces Commander, Kaythan Vs‘urr, has been sent to Earth to hunt the wizard down, but things do not go as either of them would have predicted. The two men form a “mate bond” and begin a quest to bring down the Xoh‘kas family. What follows is classic fantasy [...]

    8. magic and mates. the way of using magic the author created is interesting.just wonder what will the next book be about

    9. I've read it for a challenge and was really dissapointed. The adventure was probably the best part of the book but really not that great since the challenges were not exactly that complicated. As to the whole mate idea, and you have to know that I like mates usually, but not this instant lust/love. The relationship and the plot failled to engage me since the character's were rather flat. It was not badly written so the two stars and for the idea of the plot, which could have been done better.

    10. I won this book in a giveaway. It was exactly the kind of book that I like, but unfortunately I was disappointed by the time I finished the book. The beginning felt rushed and even though the character were awesome the plot and their interactions didn't give enough for mew to trully enjoy it. I'm not sure I'll be willing to buy the next book in the series.

    11. This book had me hooked from the very first sentence. The plot was unlike anything else I've ever read and I loved the concept, it was interesting and kept me guessing. The main characters were great and I enjoyed the journey they went on together.
